International Journal of Clinical Medical Research adopts a zero-tolerance policy toward academic misconduct. Any manuscript found to involve unethical behaviors will be rejected at any stage of the publication process.
The journal strictly prohibits plagiarism in all forms. To safeguard research integrity, all submitted manuscripts will be screened for originality using Crossref Similarity Check powered by iThenticate before peer review. Authors must ensure that all sources are properly cited, whether using others’ work or their own previously published material. Any evidence of overlapping or copied text will be considered plagiarism and result in immediate rejection of the manuscript.
Definition of Plagiarism:
Direct plagiarism: Verbatim copying without citation.
Self-plagiarism: Republishing one’s own work without acknowledgment.
Mosaic plagiarism: Paraphrasing without proper attribution.
Fabrication & falsification: Making up or altering data.
Image manipulation: Misleading visual modifications without disclosure.
Plagiarism Detection:
All submissions are screened using Turnitin:
Similarity <10%: Acceptable, minor edits may be requested.
Similarity 10–20%: Revision required with proper citation.
Similarity 20–40%: Major revision or rejection.
Similarity >40%: Immediate rejection; potential blacklisting.
The journal upholds the principles of research integrity and fairness. Data fabrication (making up data) and data falsification (manipulating research data) are serious violations of publication ethics. Authors may be asked to provide the raw data supporting their research, either during submission or upon editorial request. Proven cases of falsification or fabrication will lead to rejection of the manuscript and notification of the authors’ institutions.
Manuscripts submitted to the International Journal of Clinical Medical Research must be original and not under review elsewhere. Simultaneous submissions to multiple journals are strictly prohibited.
To protect the peer review process and academic fairness:
Editors must disclose any conflicts of interest (COI). Failure to disclose COI will be considered misconduct and may result in permanent exclusion from editorial activities.
Reviewers are discouraged from coercive or excessive self-citation requests. The editorial office sets limits on citation numbers from reviewers.
Authors should avoid excessive self-citation of their own works, as thresholds are also applied to prevent citation manipulation.
The journal treats all academic misconduct seriously. Verified cases will result in:
Immediate rejection of the manuscript.
Notification of the authors’ affiliated institutions.
A ban on new submissions from the involved institutions to all journals under the publisher for three years.
All parties involved in the publication process—authors, reviewers, and editors—are expected to uphold integrity, protect academic honor, and work together to promote the advancement of scientific research.
